WTF I just realised that "eyvah" (which we say in Turkish to mean "oh no") is basically just "oy vey" in Arabic. Like, I think it's probably the same roots??

Just like "oh wei" in German, probably.

"Oy vey" is Hebrew, right, not Yiddish? Both that and Arabic are Semitic, so no matter what a bot says, it's not an unreasonable conclusion to come to. (No idea what linguists say.)
