Devils advocate: I would make it 6 (4 feels somehow seedish and also there would be too much chunks), but I don't know if it fits better in case of 4 into dividing count. I think it is good idea and we dont need to discovery wheel here. IBAN is using chunk 4 and also ipv6 address. I think it is good for quick check. Check all string is important, you are sending #money ;-)

Interesting idea. I just wouldn't use spaces since it makes the text hard to copy. Make it visual-only using css or similar crap.
