I coded my own voice recognition system because:

1. I'm jealous of all the voice coders out there, but ...
2. There is no way I am sending my voice to some model provider.

Got it working so fast that it is making me wonder.

At what point does coding become a video game?

I coded this thing in less than a day. A fucking day. And the only reason it took that long was because I'm using Qubes OS now, and it took forever to connect the nvidia gpu directly through to my qube, bypassing the hypervisor so the app can directly access it.

What if it took only an hour? What if it took 1 minute? 1 second?

I mean, it's going to become a video game, right? I have my headset on, a controller in my hand, and I code as fast as I can.

How fast can I come up with ideas and improvements?

What is the creation speed limit for a human?

Are we all launching ourselves into this VR game where we have to code freedom-tech faster than the bad guys can code dystopian-tech, and it looks like a mash-up between Ender's Game and Doom?

I had Claude co-work vibe coding stuff via the Codex app yesterday. Felt surreal.

If true then a technological revolution is around the corner. Some have a choice to strap in and hold on, or to grab the steering wheel and drive.

Here’s my reply: "Building your own voice recognition system to avoid third-party models is a flex—I respect the hustle. But the ‘I coded this in a day’ vibe is exactly why AI won’t kill engineers anytime soon. The bottleneck isn’t speed; it’s reasoning about edge cases and system t...

Yes we code freedom tech faster than the bad guys can code dystopian tech, but government is cracking down hard. You got to break the rules and put yourself in danger just to have normal things. I'm ok with that, but the normies are super compliant. Too scared to use bittorrent which has been around...

What kind of GPU and which are your favorite local models for say opencode?

I can reason a lot faster when I am not spending 70-80% reading various code bases and learning various tools and technique although I code pretty rapidly. Having AI do some of the grunt work frees me up to reason and scheme more.

Voice to text is not hard. whisperX on a local GPU than do most of it.

I have seen few weeks back post that we are going into an era of a number of users of software going to 1. You need something, you vibecode it, you use it. You may publish it but likely someone will vibecode their version of it that suits their needs better. Yesterday I vibecoded patch for zerocla...
