I think we have this strength that we can write things down, compare them next to each other, understand complex stuff with the help of many different tools. but when it comes to our essence, we are actually really simple beings, with very simple needs but we are really suppressing them as you say. artificial light brings more time to do things but less time to feel things. when humans really used to have a different sleep cycle, with physiological wake hours during the night, that was usually a time for stillness and going within. simplicity in eating, spending time outside... all replaced by things that sell as easier but are actually creating weird symptoms... and yes, empathy really matters 🫂
