I think "conflict of interest" is bogus language for sycophants to complain about disappointment and start real conflicts to get handouts. There is no real conflict whatsoever.
I mean you're literally betting on yourself. I don't see how that cannot be viewed as unethical. Sure, I don't think it should be illegal, but it definitely comes across as a weak way to grow.
