Interest (hashtag) based feeds are so useless for onboarding. You have a handful of spammers spamming pretty much every hashtag. I don't see any way around that other than just following some people.

Kind of sad that a few people are ruining first time experience for everyone. Same with Rizful that constantly spams new users about lighthing addresses. Scum.

Rizful works great. They only do that to npubs which don't have a LN wallet yet.

Interest feeds are based on WOT, but maybe based on those hashtags you can find people or lists of people, based on location and interests

Those hashtag feeds are built from shit relays, that's why it's bad. Try it on wisp and lmk what you think! Had to build a search engine first to make it work (ie wot filtered, ranked by engagement and author trust etc)

That's one of the many weaknesses of hashtags, they're so easy to pollute.

Its what happens to hashtags, Mastodon seems to have it worse. I've throught of adding a max hashtags filter client side to make it more readable and filter out those with 10+ hashtags on thier notes. But it's not really a solution
