Another discussion where someone cites the rise of alt-right in Europe…

AfD: 30% FPƖ: 30% LePen: 30% Reform UK: 25-30%

…only to summarise it with a convenient argument that ā€œat least 30-40 percent of any given population is fucked in the headā€.

It’s extremely simplistic and ignorant excuse.

There are specific social reasons why AfD etc rise in polls. Merkel’s ā€œWir schaffen dasā€ was one of them, the European left abandoning their usual voter base - local working people - for niche minority groups was nother. Voters see that and choose those who resonate to their problems. I highlight the word ā€œresonateā€, because they are not solving them, that’s the essence of populism.

What response I get? Another both arrogant and ignorant excuse:

So concentration camps for nonwhites solve everything? No more fascism?

I’m explaining why voters move to these parties, not endorsing their methods.

If anyone is to blame, it’s the morons from mainstream parties who for decades chose to ignore these reasons.

And no, please don’t try to create a false choice between ā€œzero immigration checkā€ and ā€œconcentration campsā€ as the only alternatives.

This is one of the manipulative eristic tricks that muted all rational debate one these real social challenges for years. That’s the very hysterical attitude that resulted in mainstream parties hiding their head in the sand… and allowing the problem to grow.

Another response:

You know, those ā€˜problems’ have existed for decades. Centuries even. There was never one pure blooded population with 0 exchange.

Firstly, it has nothing to with race purity. Manipulative projecting someone’s racist ideas on everyone talking of immigration is another classic trick that muted that debate.

Want a simple solution? Request that all migrants, legal or illegal, from US or Asia, simply sign declaration they recognise the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.[^1]

Can you see anything racist or discriminatory in it? Most likely you’ve never read it yourself, because being born in Europe you’ve been for years socialised in the spirit of the Charter - equality, rule of law, freedom of speech, non-discrimination.

And the argument that the challenge existed for centuries is true, but only in XX century Europe switched to a delusional policy where ancient religious or tribal habits are expected to be treated as equal with all the European values we built this successful civilisation on.

Misinterpreted extreme ā€œmulticulturalismā€ created an absurd situation where everyone is expected to follow the Charter by default… except for those who don’t know of it or reject it. More absurdly this rejection should be protected by the very Charter.

I’m not talking about forcing people’s religion or culture… except for parts dramatically incompatible with European human rights.

Things like precedence of religious or tribal laws over civil law, blood revenge, female genital mutilation - you move to EU, you must reject them or stay away.
