This is interesting... But I'm sure it is going to duck up my experience using the FUTO keyboard and that's sad, because it is the best keyboard I've used in a long time and it is open source afaik.

Is another "stock" keyboard really gonna be as good?

When making a new keyboard we want something on par with GBoard, without the whole third party GIF and Google services obviously. There's a few great contenders already out there with a different license but are incomplete in important features. That's something we'd have to take on.
