About the hospital.
I have post vac syndrome since 4 years. Main symptom is extreme exhaustion. After 4 years of doing almost nothing, your body obviously developes other weaknesses. Oftentimes, I also have problems with eating and digestion.
Since last Friday, I felt more sickness and had a stomach ache. I had a regular appointment with my alternative practitioner on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday, I felt especially weak and sick. Typically, he helps me within an hour and I feel way better, but on Tuesday I was there for 3 hours and it just got worse and worse. He frequently checked my "heartbeat line" and at the end, we saw that my heart skipped a beat.
That has never happened before, and I was a little scared about that. He instantly called the ambulance. At that time, I felt sick, was shaking and a little dizzy.
In the back of my head I knew I didn't want to go to the hospital, but I had to. I didn't want to go because the hospital is known for not being good at all and I also had a somewhat similar experience about a year ago.
So I had to go anyway and after arriving at the emergency station, I got put in a wheelchair and they rolled me in the waiting room (still shaking, still completely dizzy and weak and sick).
My parents arrived 10min later luckily, but I had to wait another 50min to get a room where I could lay down. Another 40min until there was doctor. Than I got something against the sickness and dizziness.
After two hours though, it got even worse and I almost fainted after puking. Since they had not enough rooms though, I got rolled out on the hallway and my mom had to go back to the waiting room, which made me mad.
After a while, they told me i should stay the night.
Now, it was 4 o'clock and got a room for myself luckily and tried to sleep a bit, but I couldn't. At 7 o'clock, the nurse came in, switched the light on and told me to wake, since she had to wake up the entire station.
I got breakfast at 8:30 am but I couldn't eat it on my own. At 10 o'clock, my parents could finally visit and they helped me. After eating a little bit and resting some more, I already felt better.
Than, I had some more check ups which were all good and I was free to go. I felt like I could survive the car ride back home, so we left at 3 pm.
At home, I felt way better and now, one day later, I'm still a bit weak but much better.
I just want to say that I have a tremendous respect for everyone working at the hospital, since it is so crowded and not a great place to be. But still, I hope I never have to go back.
It's so sad. It should be a place to get better, but it's just not designed that way. I know they don't have the capacity to improve much but I haven't seen a person that was happy. No one can really care about you, since they have so much to do.
On that note, I hope you all stay healthy and safe and don't have to go there!
Thank God that I feel better already!
Have a great day! PV!
