Caveats:
- rural populations are, if anything, undercounted. There has been a study for this recently.
- "population growths" in the post war era were driven by censuses. In other words this is wehre they started counting and they didn't know how many they had before.
- rural, uneducated populans tend to reproduce more not less in hash times. Examples: Palestine, Syria
