We really just need clients to make it easy to choose relays for the global feed. Of course you could read from any relay if it's for an account you follow, etc. Would fix a lot of issues.

I’m a noob - is there anything specific I have to be aware of? I’ve just been sticking with standard relays which were there (Damus). I kinda feel like I’m invisible and I am not sure if I see everything I wanna see if that makes sense?
