There are so may ways to store energy such as underground molten salt vaults, water pumping and of course batteries. If renewable is the commitment, why not invest in storage? It's not like you can hope the sun never goes down. More of the right thing at the wrong time will never fix your energy problem.

It would also help, if more people would consume and store the electricity they produce, rather than dumping it on the grid.
