Well I mean if Lightning is supposed to scale then Lightning will take a large proportion of the block space, will it not? Then it will become hard to open channels because you will have to interact with the base chain. You will have to rely on third parties large scale Lightning channels, no?

yeah but you only have to open a channel once and it could last years. the more people using lightning, the less onchain activity in general. it will all come down to economics. it will be cheaper to transact via lightning so people will do that when fees are high we actually already saw this duri...
