Good morning. This is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.

The Heidelberg Catechism opens with the most important question you will ever answer. What is your only comfort in life and in death? That I am not my own, but belong body and soul, in life and in death, to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood.

Read that again. You are not your own. You were bought. The price was not negotiated. It was blood. The blood of the eternal Son of God, poured out willingly for rebels who deserved wrath. That is not sentiment. That is the ground you stand on this morning.

Paul writes to the Corinthians with the same force. You were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. The logic is airtight. Ownership determines obligation. If Christ purchased you, then your Sunday morning belongs to him. Your voice belongs to him. Your attention belongs to him.

This is not guilt. This is glory. The God who made the universe wants your worship. Not because he needs it. Because he is worthy of it. And because the act of worship is where your soul finds what it was made for.

Go to church this morning. Sing like you mean it. Sit under the preaching of the Word. Let the truth of what Christ accomplished wash over you again. You need it more than you think.

He is risen. He is worthy. Worship him today.
