Hi, good evening BCH fam. I just want to share my experience with the new BCHNostr update feature, the Membership Feature.
Earlier, while scrolling, I saw an activity from one creator and became interested in joining and trying it out. While I was doing the activity and getting ready to submit it, I noticed that the activity link needed to be pasted on her activity post. After posting my activity in the community, I tried looking for her activity post, but I couldn’t find it right away.
Later on, I learned she had placed her activity under a members-only post, which means it was exclusive for subscribers she also said she like to try it. Out of curiosity and excitement, I decided to try the membership feature and see how it works.
First, you need to go to Creator Support, then choose the membership option. There are different membership fee choices like $1, $5, $10, and more. Since I only wanted to experience how it works, I chose the $1 membership.
After subscribing to her I was able to view her members-only activity. However, I noticed that there is still no specific space or option where members can directly submit or paste their activity links. I understand that this feature is still being developed, and I truly appreciate the admins for continuously improving the platform and listening to suggestions from the community.
I also tried subscribing to another creator, who also created a membership on her profile. She congratulated one member for being her first subscriber, so I wanted to try as well. But when I clicked to subscribe, it showed “insufficient wallet balance.”
That made me realize that each membership subscription is currently for one creator at a time. If you want to support another creator, you may need to add more BCH to your wallet and use it for another membership.
I’m happy that creators now have a way to share exclusive content with their supporters. At the same time, I also understand that some members may not always have enough BCH balance, and even $1 can already be a meaningful amount for others.
I understand that aside from rewards and earnings, one goal of this feature is also to encourage BCH circulation and support the platform’s growth. My only gentle suggestion is that maybe, in the future, membership could become a little more accessible so members can support more creators without needing to pay separately each time.
Of course, this is only my personal suggestion, and I also understand that membership is designed to support individual creators because content creation truly deserves appreciation.
At the end of the day, what matters most is that we continue supporting each other in this community. We can save even small amounts of BCH from our rewards and use them to support creators who share valuable content.
Thank you for reading my thoughts, and good evening BCH fam.
