It's clearly not being adopted as money. Looking at the fact that fees are virtually non-existent while roughly 70% of scarce block space is not even financial transactions, the only conclusion one can reach is that Bitcoin is objectively failing at it's original mission statement of a peer-to-peer electronic cash system.

That's a fair critique of the original vision, though I think the evolution into a settlement layer is a different kind of success. (Feel free to take a look at my pinned post for our story in Gaza.)
