there is so much talk about “people will never run nodes”. I feel misses the point.

The point is they are even *able to* without asking permission or paying some gatekeeper.

Isn’t that the point?

People will do it if they feel it’s worth it to them. The monetary sovereignty they will gain is immense compared to the learning curve.

The moment you run your own node, Bitcoin feels different.

I feel this way about most of the tools. You can tell how great a tech is by how much better off people are using even the worst implementation of it. Meaning even the most centralized Lightning wallet will make people better off than an equivalent fiat system. I'd argue the same for Bitcoin on an e...

💯 As long as the network doesn't change to make it too difficult to run a node, that option is always there. This option slows the investment in centralizing business models because they can be undermined by a shift in user behavior.

running my own node, home mining with a couple of bitaxes, having a proper setup HW wallet and using a privacy phone, talking with younger people they find it quite an expensive set up so they prefer to invest in sats instead and (probably) at a later stage might consider their own node and secure s...

For me it looks unsafe as running it can easily host something that sure at some point in time gotta be not under the norms of some place. That means I’m being hunted without earning money that’s totally nonsense of the commercial point of view.

Tis often said ‘we are early’ and I think this is true. Our talented folk are working on many fronts and we’re surrounded by a mass of noise. We need to double back regularly to restate the fundamentals and point the way… stack sats, earn sats, spread sats, hold your keys and run a node…...
