Strangers often praise me and my wife for how often they witness our children playing outside. Which is nice but it makes me sad because this should be the norm.

I live in an area where kids play, build treehouse and bike jumps, ride skateboards and be generally loud and sometimes obnoxious. I love it!

Screens became babysitters because fiat drains the life force from parents. My kids were homeschooled and outside barefoot and muddy most of the day. As teenagers they write code and play games and watch tv, but I'm grateful for that foundation.
