I keep thinking about getting out of tech and moving to, well, anything else.

But one of the things I wonder about is if any new job would let me wear a mask.

I have a history of lung infections. Before COVID I had a couple of cases of flu sending me to ER. This ended with lockdowns and masking.

I still mask. My company is used to it. I am one of 3 people who are almost always masked at work. We are the weirdos and I know it. But our sick days are low, and my health is better. So I don't want to stop.

Yesterday I was in a vroup meeting for the first time with a new exec, and they were clearly uncomfortable with my presence. They kept not looking at me while they talked. It got me thinking about this more.

How does one deal with job hunting and masking in a world where looking after yourself and others is the oddball choice?
