It has 16 rings but the trunk is only3cm in diameter. It grows a little each year. I don't want to think what the root ball is like.

I think the moss and lichens help it somehow. I do give it a handful of soil now and then.

I'm also impressed with how hearty moss can be as I've had it die on me often when I try to grow it indoors. I think moss needs a LOT more sun than most people think.
