That's not to say, banks must be vandalized but if people are going to protest cost of living, they should at least deal with the root cause imho

We see lots of videos of undercover cops participating in those protests, breaking things.
These are all controlled demolition protests. And They then implement Their Solutions : chat control, encryption controls, National IDs, lockdowns, etc.
The only way I see is intense use of freedom technologies (bitcoin/monero, encryption, mesh networks, etc) + in combo with local P2P economy.
If people simply did massive civil disobedience, the problem would go away. No need to go out and break things. The problem is that we have too many obedient sheep...
