From 1984 to the 2010s, this guy from Chicago snuck into thousands of clubs with a tape recorder in his pocket. Nirvana in 1989 at a tiny venue. The Replacements. Sonic Youth. R.E.M. Phish. Depeche Mode. Björk.
Over 10,000 concerts on cassette.
He never made a single penny.
He did it because he had to.
Now these recordings are being digitized by volunteers around the world and uploaded for free to the Internet Archive.
Over 2,300 shows already available for free streaming and download.
The project is called "No Tape Left Behind".
