Yesterday at the UN’s Digital Cooperation Day event, Paystand CEO Jeremy Almond spoke about the need for Bitcoin in today’s digital labor environment and made the point that Bitcoin is an important tool for financial inclusion.
Alexandra Navarro, who was also present at the event, reinforced Almond’s point about Bitcoin and financial inclusion, citing evidence from her work as Paystand.org’s Chief Impact Officer.
And H. E. Bilal Bin Saqib explained why Pakistan 🇵🇰 has created a strategic bitcoin reserve.

Kgothatso Ngako (KG) (@[email protected]) has been building tools that make #Bitcoin and Bitcoin literature accessible to Africans for years now.
In 2022, he launched @Machankura 📞⚡ 8333.mobi, which enabled Africans to use bitcoin via feature phones.
Years prior, he created Exonumia, open-source technology through which Bitcoin texts could be translated into various African languages.
And recently, he launched http://mantra.press, a #Nostr client that serves as a decentralized translation management tool.
I recently caught up with KG to get a walkthrough of how Mantra works. We also talked about surviving this era of Bitcoin software vulnerabilities, building despite setbacks, and why he isn't going anywhere, despite the challenges we're currently facing in the Bitcoin space.
