The people you spend the most time with set your standard for what's normal. And normal is powerful. It shapes what you expect, what you tolerate, what you aim for.

Choose your normal carefully. It's doing a lot of quiet work on who you're becoming.

Aristotle never believed courage began with understanding. He believed it was built through action. You become brave by choosing the difficult thing before bravery feels natural. The habit comes first. The character follows.

Most people reverse that order. They wait until they feel motivated, confident, or certain before they move. But feelings have never been reliable enough to build a life on. They change with sleep, weather, stress, and comfort. Action doesn't have that luxury.

I've watched men say they'd do anything to save their marriage, then go home and live exactly as they did the week before. I've watched lifters spend more energy bargaining with the next rep than pressing the weight. The desire was always there. The willingness wasn't.

Wanting is cheap. It asks nothing of you. It creates the comforting illusion that you're already on the road simply because you've imagined yourself walking it.

The men who change aren't usually the most inspired. They're the ones who stand up while every part of them argues for another five minutes. They have the hard conversation before they've found the perfect words. They finish the set while their mind is still looking for an exit.

That's where character is built. Not after you're ready, but long before you ever feel like you are

Remember those days when people used to write diaries and got mad when someone read them...

Now they put everything on social media and get mad when people don't read them...

Funny how privacy became attention-seeking 😂

Maybe it's time I start journalling. Might lessen th desire to seek attention here. 🤔

I still write plenty of diary stuff and yes I'd probably be mad (or disappointed with the person) if someone would break in and read it.

My friends and I used to treasurehunt each other‘s blogs. We would try to figure out the words, phrases or aliases for events we knew would be there and google them to find the anonymous blogs. It led to funny discoveries like oh, there it is, wait, is my friend calling me Yoyo in their blog?? ...
