With Africa's rise in share of global Bitcoin mining hashrate now just under 4%, the question is how this hash power is being used and by whom ๐Ÿ“Œ

In my latest for Forbes Crypto, I look into Africa's "Hashrate Exfiltration Problem" and future outlook.

"Put simply, โ€œhashrate exfiltrationโ€ is the use of a region's hashrate by a foreign entity or power in furtherance of its interests, often at the region's expense. [...] The legacy of resource extraction in Africa may see another unfortunate renaissance in Bitcoin mining if care is not taken."

"Africaโ€™s resilience against all these odds will set the global template for building resilient money and energy infrastructure, ensuring a future of hope and abundance for all."

Here is my talk, "A Bitcoinized Africa," from last week's @npub1yul83... Baltic Honeybadger '24 conference #BH2024

This year, I decided to give a more concise presentation, based on a lot of feedback and requests, on why Africa will continue to play a significant role in Bitcoin's overall development and future success.

Share this presentation with anyone curious about "what material benefits Bitcoin brings to humanity" or "what Africa's role is in the future of Bitcoin."

"Africa will not only continue to show what Bitcoin can do but, more importantly, it is going to show what we can do with Bitcoin" ๐Ÿ”ฅ
