In Islam, "naskh" is the law of Quranic abrogation which rules that later revealed verses of the Quran amend, alter, or cancel the legal rulings of earlier revealed verses.
"The works of men are imperfect and no man has ever seen the Light of Truth in absolute purity. Therefore, though two things within the body of our written records may appear contradictory, if not capable of reconciliation through greater understanding, the thing written later, unless a manifest error, shall be more acceptable. Be men of good faith, goodwill and commonsense. Nothing passing through the hands of men escapes contamination. Only sincerity and diligence will maintain its purity."
Based upon this quote from chapter 15 of the Kolbrin's Book of the Sons of Fire, it seems that abrogation was an Egyptian concept long before it became an Islamic concept. The Kolbrin is regarded as being roughly 3,600 years old and contains a number of books that are considered Egyptian in origin.
If true, this would not be abnormal. In the Quran, there is the Surah Al-Jinn. Jinn is also spelled with a leading "d", i.e. "djinn". In Egypt, the asp hieroglyph was translated into English phonemes as "dj". Most people with a basic awareness of ancient Egypt realize the importance of serpents in Egyptian mysticism with the headdresses that resembled cobra hoods and the uraeus headband that made it look like a cobra was penetrating out of the wearer's third eye.
Activation of higher dormant chakras, in Hindu terminology, is called a kundalini awakening. Kundalini, in Sanskrit, simply means "coiled". It refers to an anatomical component of the spirit body that is serpentine in form and typically coiled around the root chakra. When higher, dormant chakras are activated, this serpentine element of the spirit body's anatomy uncoils itself and rises up through what may be thought of as the "spine of the spirit body", known as Sushumna in Hindu terminology. This serpentine component of the spirit body rises up to the height of whatever chakra is being activated. When it does, it induces intense bioelectrical sensations throughout the nervous system due to the magnetic nature of the spirit body and the right hand rule of electromagnetism.
In Islam, djinn are considered to be spirits that possess a person. When a person experiences a kundalini awakening or a spiritual rebirth, the old them "dies" and a new them is "born again". There are profound personality changes. In spiritual circles, this time is known as "the Dark Night of the Soul". On Kabbalah's Tree of Life, this corresponds with "Da'ath", the hidden Sephirah, which, notably, is phonetically assonant and consonant with "death", a word that already belongs in this conversation, i.e. ego death, born again, etc.. These personality changes are notable to friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors who, sometimes, ignorantly choose to ascribe these changes to possession. In truth, what they are noticing is a dispossession, not a possession. It is a dispossession insofar as the neophyte has experienced ego death and the neophyte has released attachments to certain worldly things. The neophyte has, essentially, reprioritized, and has chosen to allocate time, attention, and other resources in novel distribution patterns in comparison to previous patterns.
The Egyptians knew about the kundalini serpent. So did their good friends across the Mediterranean: the Greeks. In Greece, the kundalini serpent was known and depicted as being coiled around the Orphic Egg. The Greek word for serpent, "ophis" can be anagrammed into the Greek word for wisdom, "sophi" by moving the letter that looks like and sounds like a serpent, S, from one end (root chakra), to the other end (crown chakra). Other cultures knew about the serpent too. Christ even mentioned it in Matthew 10:16.
Egyptian words that contain "dj" generally have some kind of connection to activation of higher chakras. You can check this translation for yourself on

Same thing with Wadjet, djedd, and Banebdjedet. The Biblical Magi were really the "Medjay". Likewise, jinn is really spelled djinn. These aren't the nitpicks of a pedant. These spelling changes are literally significant.
The argument that djinn corresponds with people who have experienced activation of higher, dormant chakras is substantially philological and most philology scholars and academics would consider what I'm saying to be heretical. Frankly, they tend to be philologists, not esoterically informed polymaths. They tend to only "know" whatever their professors and textbooks told them.
Most of them haven't studied various cultural, occult, religious, and esoteric wisdom traditions. Most of them are not physicists nor are they practitioners of the Golden Rule. They haven't read Bentov or Dispenza or Churchward or Cannon or Stevenson & Tucker. They don't know about the importance of theta neural oscillation patterns. They don't understand why the "fiery baptism of the Holy Spirit" includes the word "fiery" for the same reason they don't understand why djinn are associated with "smokeless fire" and why the sacred heart of Christ is often depicted aflame. They don't understand how the Phoenix who sets its own nest aflame only to rise from its own ashes fits this same motif, nor do they understand why dragons are said to have fiery breath. All of these concepts point at the same phenomenon.
As such, the mainstream academic philologists do not think that words like genius, ingenious, engineer, engine, energy, generate, general, genetic, or genuine derive from djinn. If they understood the relationship between electricity and magnetism, perhaps they might understand this better. If they understood the relationship between knowledge, truth, honesty, and the wisdom (throat) chakra, perhaps they might understand this better. If they understood why so many cultures had serpent and flight symbolism baked into their mystical traditions, they might understand this better.
When Islam conquered Egypt, cultural osmosis occurred. Egyptian concepts like djinn and scriptural abrogation became absorbed into the Islamic tradition.
