Best I can do is excalidraw. The obsidian plugin is not very good, but there are good stand alone apps you can use with it that.

After you're done sketching you can select all, copy and paste it in an obsidian excalidraw note for safekeeping

Great question. I'm not a fan of mattermost either. If something along the lines of Armada would have been available and mature at the time I would have done that. Otherwise I think element is the best of the worst
