When you ask the question: What is Western culture? What is American, Canadian, British, German culture? etc.
A lot of modern people might say, there is no "Western" culture. Why is there no Western ...
Yeah I feel you completely on this one, Jay!
The only thing that I can add is that the cities somehow fester this multiculturalism. The larger city itself is an effective breeding ground for these half-baked ideologies.
I think namely because of the large number of persons, coupled with most people’s sense of self-preservation, prevents any healthy communication, and encourages social isolation.
It seems to me people just try to avoid the members of their community outside of their trusted network of peers or friends. So things like correcting a stranger’s awful behavior is a risk often not worth taking.
It’s different in a small town or especially in rural areas. Where if someone doesn’t belong it’s immediately recognizable because you know who you see often. That really helps to carry yourself unburdened from having to keep a guard up constantly when traveling to a coffee shop, for example. I can only imagine what that does to people psychologically as I just experience it for a week or so on vacation, and it’s absolutely draining and taxing every damn time.
