The reason is in the new edition v2.10 of my GrapheneOS handbook, together with the duress PIN and duress password, a separate profile as a vault for your most important passwords and travel OpSec with notes on the legal situation.

Who gets your tax data? Cloud tax tools want every transaction on their server. BTC Steuertool calculates on your device: no upload, no account, no telemetry. The Android app does not even have an internet permission.

New today: the tax tool as an app for Android and as a Flatpak for the Linux desktop, next to the web version in the browser and the CLI. All free, no paywall any more. One calculation core for every edition: FiFo under § 23 EStG (German private sales) with the one-year holding period and the exemption limit, fees paid in bitcoin as a disposal of the fee amount, gifts as a reduction of holdings, noKYC strictly apart and never in the documents for the tax office. Exchange rates and BTC daily closing prices are built in, the app downloads nothing. The reports are in German, they are meant for the German tax office.

The app trailer in one minute, no voice, with screenshots of the app and sample data:

The Fed is hiking again, for the first time since July 2023. The US ten-year yield closed September 30 at 5.29%, the highest since 2002. Bitcoin still holds around $84,000, and the ETFs just had their strongest week of the year.

Also inside: why you should not buy a Pixel 11 for GrapheneOS right now, where chat control stands after the trilogue, and what is coming out of the Alien Lab.

All five Alien Investor apps now download from our own server.

Sachwert-Tresor, Alien Pass, Alien Notes, Alien Fitness and Ausgaben-Tracker live at api.alien-investor.org/downloads/. The address belongs to us, not to a platform. Every release is still mirrored on GitHub.

Whether an APK is genuine is decided by its signature, not by the server. Every app carries the same certificate fingerprint as before, wherever you download it.

Zap Store: nothing to do, updates arrive as usual.
Obtainium: on the apps page, tap "Open in Obtainium" for any app. Source, version detection and certificate lock are prefilled. If you still have an app set up with the Codeberg address, switch once; the steps are right there.
