For kind 1 clients, the separation is good to avoid having to download 100s of replies just to discard them and build a feed of new posts. The more we move away from kind 1 replies, the more we save on data utilization.

Tenor is an API to help track what users are thinking and posting by Google. Its the easiest way for Google to connect random sites what are users actually doing in other apps/sites that Google doesn't control.

Not really, the edit will send a proposal to the author. Forks don't send it like that.
Social Edits is quite cool. We need to get better into this idea or proposing edits to posts.
