I do not use the proprietary Linux, I use GNU/GNU Linux-libre.

"Freeware" is a type of proprietary software where you're not allowed to distribute the software, you don't get the source code and you're also forbidden from modifying it too.

Some developers don't enforce some of their restrictions, but every last developer had or has nefarious intentions.

@nprofile1q... SeaBIOS does very little hardware init - coreboot or Intel's proprietary software does the init and then SeaBIOS has not much to do (except maybe use the VBIOS to set the display mode).
