The 71st Airborne Brigade repelled a major Russian assault near Oleksiivka, Sumy region. Over 40 troops were killed and 6 wounded in a failed push.

Russian forces launched three attack waves. Initial infantry groups were eliminated before reaching Ukrainian lines. Then came a covert attempt to infiltrate through a gas pipeline. Detected by reconnaissance, the group was destroyed.
