The real risk is not that AI will become sentient.
The risk is that we will become more passive.
Less present.
Less responsible for our choices.

AI can help.
It cannot live our lives for us.
It does not feel the weight of consequences.
It does not pay the price for mistakes.
Let us use these tools to do better what we have decided to do.

But let us not entrust something that does not live with the task of guiding a life that is, instead, uniquely human.

I totally understand you. My dog had to have all of his teeth removed because of an infection that was weakening his jaws. I know it's not quite the same as having no eyes anymore. But it's as if those teeth had been taken out of me, while he continues to eat as if nothing had happened.
