For years I’ve stuck with my Mac because despite issues the “it just works” mantra has held true… but I can feel things slipping, especially seeing what AI is doing to Microsoft products.

I feel like Linux would only be a stepping stone for me and I’d end up on BSD anyway. The philosophy sits more comfortably with me, plus I cut my teeth on Unix in my first “proper” job many years ago.

I love my Mac but Liquid Glass and AI creep aren’t my vibe. And I’m not loving Tim Apple’s sucking up to Trump.

Just need to pick some hardware I guess…

Maybe 2026 will finally be the year I do enough reading to actually build a #BSD desktop.
