Why? Is it a broken thread prevention thing where if you don't have a full thread up until the first referenced Object, it isn't worth storing and displaying to users?
If you have the context intact like is usually the case unless you are dealing with Misskey and forks, wouldn't it be better to still show what federated?
Because this to me seems like the case of someone locking down half the thread with a lockpost and giving up on processing that, except with public posts.
