My father, Paul Rusesbagina, known for his bravery in the movie Hotel Rwanda was kidnapped, tortured, illegally detained in Rwanda (2020-2023) because he called the world to pay attention to Kagame’s dictatorship. While in prison, our family relentlessly advocated for his freedom and the gov’t of Rwanda used PEGASUS to surveil us and track our every move. Our story is sadly not unique, many Rwandans have been persecuted by Kagame, a darling of the west.

🚨🚨 Watch this. Rwanda’s hidden war in eastern Congo has killed millions, all to loot the DRC’s minerals. These minerals are then sold and used to build electronic we used like our phones, computers, etc.. NBC exposes what many have ignored for decades. The West must end military support, cancel #VisitRwanda deals, and sanction Kagame and his cronies — just as it did with Russia. Stand with the DRC’s sovereignty, as we did with Ukraine. https://www.nbcnews.com/video/hidden-invasion-inside-rwanda-s-covert-war-in-eastern-congo-241043525685

Last week, the people of Goma in eastern Congo were once again caught in a deadly cycle of violence. Rwanda’s ongoing invasion, through its support of armed groups like the M23 militia, has unleashed devastation on entire communities—displacing thousands, claiming lives, and destroying livelihoods. This is not just a regional issue. It is a war driven by the global demand for Congo’s vast mineral wealth, including cobalt, gold, and coltan—essential to our smartphones, electric vehicles, and other modern technologies.

While the world benefits from these resources, the Congolese people pay the price with their lives. Rwanda’s exploitation of this conflict is leaving families in despair, fueling a crisis that rarely makes headlines but should demand global attention.

It’s time to hold Rwanda accountable, demand transparency in the global supply chain, and support Congolese-led peace efforts.

Don’t turn away. Congo needs the world to pay attention.
