if you’re an intelligent employee I can’t emphasize how important it is to hide this fact from your employer. incompetence rises in organizations because of its problem & confrontation-avoidant nature. whoever is at the helm will likely (unconsciously) surround themselves with yes men & incompetence, because they handle (censor) problems before they escalate rather than surface and contend with them, paradoxically making them seem competent. it’s the path of least resistance every time. you get to choose what problems you solve in this life & most people do not want to engage with difficult problem sets. basic rule of thumb is the larger the bureaucracy, the more slow & helpless & retarded
