Did Congress ever officially make Nixon’s “temporary” closure of the dollar to gold convertibility window permanent? I wonder what would happen if it’s still temporary and Trump reversed Nixon and re-opened it? (I’m 100% certain he wouldn’t even if he could.)

I can imagine it would crash the US Dollar and take most other countries’ fiat with it. It would be spectacular and devastating at the same time. #asknostr
