Thanks for asking. Nucube is just a client / controller. It can use any DLNA server so in theory also Ampache and Subsonic. I use MiniDLNA.

Thanks. Yes I'm aware of Tempo and apps compatible with Subsonic API. My purpose is to build something that's not linked to any specific server or other API and rely exclusively on Upnp/DLNA. Also, multi-platform for desktop and mobile.
