@nprofile1q... because of course, the cost of recycling or even disposing the plastic is not charged to the people who are making it. that's Someone Else's Problem, and the way they frame the problem of recycling plastic makes it _your_ problem! as though i choose to live in a world where plastic is the packaging material for half of everything, and my throwing it into the trash is because i hate the environment
