That's FUD to paint knots runners as a cult of personality centered around Luke. There are about a dozen developers involved in that project, and none of the people running it care much one way or the other about Luke as a person. They run it based on the merits of the software and the fact that it gives them more control over their node. Core buried a lot of the settings that knots still exposes. The core devs took those choices away from us.
