I read about mining for months before that day.
Hashrate. ASICs. Block rewards. Words that made sense on paper but stayed abstract, somewhere in the theoretical part of my brain.
Then I turned toward a corner of that room and there they were.
Small machines lined up on a bamboo shelf.
A sign above them said bitcoin is energy, find a block.
The first one was labeled lottery miner.
Tiny, almost toy-like, quietly humming away.
Long odds of finding anything on its own, but still connected, still contributing, still part of the network in its own small way.
Next to it, something labeled home miner.
A bit larger. A bit louder. Still nothing like the industrial images I'd seen online of massive warehouses full of machines.
Below that, a professional miner sat on its own, clearly built for something more serious than the two above it.
I stood there longer than I expected to,
just watching the small lights blink, listening to the quiet hum.
It's strange how something so small can be connected to something so vast.
Every one of these machines, however tiny or however serious, verifying transactions, securing the same network I've been quietly stacking into for two years.
I didn't know mining could look this approachable.
I always imagined it as something distant, industrial, out of reach.
Standing there, it felt a lot closer than that. ðŸŸ
