But more seriously, this may be one of the few good uses of state violence. I definitely don't want to live in a world where political factions use violence to win over the masses. Any acts of ideological violence that might inspire admiration in dumb people could be met with more extreme violence from the state, to eliminate this perverse incentive. I guess this is how it worked in medieval times..
