That statement is too much of a closed statement. And was proven false for a long time the collapse was slow.
We could see in history that humanity endured that situation of being robbed for a long time...
It is something else that brings the collapse and we are in the eye of this storm now. Maybe some 200years or 500years from now people might be able to precise what caused our collapse.
