And when it did scurry off, it seemed to need a huge effort to climb a five inch step. I suspect he picked it up rather than actually catching it.
It definitely wasn’t well.
Hopefully just old age or rat dementia then. If it was poisoned, it doesn't sound like dog got enough contact to be affected. Not good for other wildlife though if someone's been putting poison out.
