Worth a ponder: A democratically elected Northland council made a decision approved by a democratic vote and the government is legislating against this decision because it says it is not democratic. Meanwhile the same government, supposedly acting as the legitimately democratically elected representatives of the citizens of New Zealand, pushed/is pushing for legislative changes that were rejected by 98% of a record number of submissions to select committee.
Does everybody see the inconsistency here?
