Bluesky’s standard.site has got to be a bit, right? How bad of a case of programmer brain do you need to have to think all that custom work is needed to accomplish a social media attribution button?...

@nprofile1q... calling this "standard site" is completely ridiculous, and they should be mocked and called out for that. But I do want to push back on the framing. This is about making applications that publish long-form content in the ATProto ecosystem interoperable, i.e. decoupling and distributing identity vs storage vs application/presentation, in a useful way. Kind of like Tim Berners-Lee's Solid (except solid doesn't have any traction, and atproto does). (sorry if I'm atproto-splaining you here).

If you're not writing that kind of application, or publishing on bluesky and caring about being able to take your data to a different atproto app, then this is not for you.

You can still just make a static website with a button.
