I can’t break the habit completely (although I’m down to about five per day) and the Post still does some great work, but on the whole it’s sinking. The editorials and op-eds are way below the paper’s past standards. The headlines are often weak.

I knew Ben Bradlee slightly and sometimes wonder what he’d think of his Post today.
