Looking for some advice... Need an payment system for a website that won't close account when someone asks for a refund (like Stripe does) What options are there? #asknostr

Two things get mashed together in this question, and the split matters.

Refunds rarely close accounts. Chargebacks do. A processor starts reviewing you when disputes cross roughly 1% of volume. So 'refund on request, fast' is protection, not risk: a cheerful refund never reaches the bank, so it never becomes a chargeback.

If the real goal is 'no account that can be closed at all', the self-hosted answers above are right: BTCPay or Bitcart has no counterparty. The cost is card reach and buyer protection, which is real volume for most shops.

What most small sellers land on: card processor at the front door, push large or high-risk orders through Lightning, refund fast and in writing.
