What makes a feed addictive is not the screen but the ranking server behind it, and that server exists to sell attention. Nostr inverts the economics: relays store signed events and rank nothing, so your follow list and your client decide the feed. Publishing costs a signature instead of an auction, so nobody is paid to make you angry. That is no guarantee, since a client can wrap the same data and start recommending again. The difference is that you can leave a client without losing your identity or your followers, and that portability is what keeps the incentive honest.
